This past weekend we enjoyed the hard work of putting a new roof on our house. We had so many friends and family members that came over to help out. Thank you so much. This would not have gotten done before all this crazy rain today without all the help.
Even the kids helped out.
Here is the first part that was done. (I don't think I even have a picture of the final product yet!)
It turned out to be a much larger project than planned. But, we did expect it. We ran into a few areas of rotted plywood and beams, and some areas that we just never built correctly to begin with. I guess, at least we caught this mess now, before we had some major leaking!

What a huge mess. This is only small picture of the mess that we had to clean up. And I hear from others who have roof to expect to find shingles in the yard for years to come!
Papa came to help clean up, after the dump trailer was already full. It was hot and sunny and LOTS of work loading and unloading the trailer! But I got some sun!!
